Flushing Peds

This site is a plain-language reference to the vocabulary used by pediatric residency training programs: the training-year labels and the pediatric subspecialty field names that such programs list.

It is not a hospital, a training program or a care provider, and it publishes no individual names, rosters, placements or contact details.

Training years

Overview

The flushingpeds.com domain previously carried a small program brochure built on a website builder: a welcome page, a page listing residents by training year, and a page listing graduating classes with the subspecialty fields their fellowships fell under. Three pages in total.

What is published here now is the non-attributable layer of that material only, and nothing more: the training-year labels the roster page used as its own section headings, and the subspecialty field headings the graduates page used as its index. Those two vocabularies are set out on this page and on the two pages kept at their original addresses.

No individual is named on this site. No roster, no class list, no fellowship destination, no street address, no telephone number and no enquiry address is published, and no affiliation with, endorsement by, or accreditation from any hospital, university, professional society or certifying body is claimed or implied.

Training years

The three section headings the roster page used to group its entries, plus the one role label it attached to individual rows.

  • PGY-1The first postgraduate training year. The roster page listed this group last, under the heading “PGY 1”.
  • PGY-2The second postgraduate training year, listed under the heading “PGY-2” on the same page.
  • PGY-3The third and final postgraduate training year, listed first on the page, under the heading “PGY-3”.
  • Chief ResidentA role label the page attached to three of its PGY-3 entries. No individual holding it is named on this site.

The people listed under these headings, and the medical schools recorded beside them, are not published on this site.

Subspecialty fields

The thirteen pediatric subspecialty field headings that the graduates page used as its own alphabetical index, reproduced here as field names only.

  • Behavior-Developmental Medicine
  • Cardiology
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Endocrinology
  • Gastroenterology
  • Infectious Disease
  • Neonatology and Perinatology
  • Nephrology
  • Neurology
  • Palliative Care
  • Pediatric Critical Care
  • Pulmonology
  • Rheumatology

The institutions listed beneath these headings, and the graduates associated with them, are not published on this site.
